Balasore Floods Leave Vegetable Farmers Facing Heavy Losses and Debt

Balasore, Aug 24: Farmers in Nizampur area of Remuna in Odisha’s Balasore district are facing a difficult situation after floodwater inundated large areas of vegetable farmland, damaging crops and threatening their livelihoods.

Although the floodwater has started receding, the damage to vegetable fields has left many farmers worried about recovering their investment. Crops cultivated with significant spending on seeds, fertilisers, labour and irrigation have been affected by prolonged waterlogging.
