“The India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement is a strong step forward for India’s textile industry, especially with duty-free access for 100% of Indian exports to a relatively untapped yet high-potential market like New Zealand. This pact empowers Indian textile manufacturers to leverage their superior quality for greater global reach. Further, with bilateral trade currently at around $2.4 billion and a scope to expand further, this agreement enhances the country’s competitiveness and opens new growth avenues for value-added textile exports. It is our turn to showcase the sector’s innovation on the global stage, and the $20bn investment commitments and reduced import duties are welcome moves that will deepen trade ties and foster growth between the two countries.
